The History of the Estates

The current area covered by Linn Park Local Nature Reserve is made up from areas of four different estates;

Castlemains – including the remains of Cathcart castle.

Hagtonhill – the bulk of the park.

Bogton – the section where the park is entered from Clarkston Road

Goldenlee – the area the White Cart Walkway runs through from the white bridge.

Traces of each estate can be seen in the landscape, layout and features of Linn Park today.
